Jobs Analysis
Working with local and regional economists, agencies, businesses and jurisdictions, Earth Economics analyzes the jobs that will be created, maintained, or lost by doing or not doing a project.
Featured Case Study:
The Economic Benefits of the Walla Walla Community College Water and Environmental Center Expansion
(March 2009)
In 2010, Walla Walla Community College won a highly competitive $3m
Economic Development Administration grant for expansion to their Water and Environmental Center. An Earth Economics analysis greatly strengthened their proposal by showing that such an expansion would provide both long- and short-term benefits in the form of construction, operating, and Tribal jobs; expansion of research capacity to assist in salmon and watershed restoration and improved water management; and a sample of the ecosystem services that would be indirectly enhanced or created as a result of expanding the Center.
